There is a thermal switch included, it will automatically power off when overheated and automatically turn on when cooled down to increase the can's efficiency. This 6" new construction recessed can light is airtight and can be installed near insulation (IC Rated). However, if you don't have access to ceiling, we recommend using our New Construction Cans. This new construction line voltage housing is made of die-cast aluminum and is IC and Airtight Rated for longer life.
