“Journeying into Inner and Outer Landscapes: A daily poetic and photographic chronicle over one year" consists of the author’s original poems and photographs and was written over the time period of July 1, 2021, to June 30, 2022, when the need to avoid physical contact during Covid-19 inspired a period of creative stillness. Each of the 365 unstaged photos, which were taken between 2005 and 2022, are from the author’s extensive archive comprised primarily of nature studies and awe-inspiring landscapes from Sedona, AZ to Kennebunkport, ME. Artistic images range from the sublime to the curious, including a California condor soaring over the majestic Grand Canyon, AZ, a baby seal lolling on a Cape Cod, MA, beach and red fox balancing on a stockade fence. To the author’s surprise the beauty of each image evoked a myriad of emotions from deeply personal to global, from lores of Mother Earth to the equally strange world of quantum mechanics.Despite harsh external circumstances hopefulness, gratitude and a profound sense of spiritual connectedness always superseded any excavated dark memories and moments. Hopefulness prevailed. Over the year’s journey, the new sense of connectedness to all life grew as the author traveled through time and the poetic words reflected the energy of cosmic rhythms flowing through each change of seasons. As you sit quietly with each image it may become a portal to previously inaccessible emotional states that the poetic verse unlocks for you to explore -- creating your unique journey of exploration.
